How it Works
Mad Catter Café is comprised of two separate areas: the take-out coffee bar and the cat lounge. Upon entry you can first proceed to the coffee bar at the back of the space, where you can purchase your take-away drink and/or snack and pay your admission fee for the cat lounge. Visitors who do not wish to enter into the lounge are welcome to purchase a coffee and admire our feline friends through the interior windows overlooking the lounge.

All cats in the lounge are up for adoption and are provided by St. John’s Humane Service’s Animal Care and Adoption Centre. You are not required to be interested in adoption in order to visit, but should you fall in love with your new furry friend, please see one of our staff members at the coffee bar to talk about adoption or email Humane Services for more information (Humane Services process all adoptions). humaneservices@stjohns.ca

Before entering the lounge, all visitors must sign a waiver. The waiver can be found here. All visitors under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver in order to allow entry into the lounge, and all visitors under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. You can also log in to our website to manage your bookings to the Cat Lounge easily.

The Adoption Process
Adopt
All adoptions are processed through Humane Services. Adoption applications and information regarding pricing and what is included can be obtained on the Humane Services website here. Please note that some of the cats in our care may already have adoptions pending. New cats typically arrive on Mondays and remain in our care for at least 7 days, regardless of adoption status. We keep this information as up-to-date as possible on our lounge board, but the best way to confirm if a specific cat is still available is by contact Humane Services at humaneservices@st.johns.ca.
Eat
In addition to delicious baked goods, we also share our space with Touton Lane's stuffed toutons.
Touton Lane is in the same family as Mad Catter Cafe. Here you will find a spin on the traditional Newfoundland touton treat. The toutons come in sweet and savoury options, stuffed with mouth watering ingedients.
